Directx 9.0b and c

Hello all,

I have a Windows 2000 computer. It has Directx 9.0c installed. I am trying to run the game 'Halo'. It says it needs DirectX 9.0b and won't run.

I tried to install directx 9.0 b. It won't install (as we have a newer version). Quick GOOGling tells me there is no clean way to uninstall Directx 9.0. So is there any other option for me to make this game run on this computer?

I appreicate any help.
