DirectX 8.1

Does anyone know how i can check to see if I have DirectX8.1 on my computer?

I am currently using Windows XP pro.

Double-Click dxdiag.exe in C:\Windows\System32

The version number is on the last line.

I have found the prorame you mention, but how do I know if I have direct X 8.1?

What do I need to look for - I can't find directX8.1 anywhere??? Is there somewhere in this programme inparticular where I should look?

By the way, you can also go START -> RUN -> dxdiag

Anyway, it'll tell you the version on the first page under System Information. There'll be a field saying 'DirectX Version'.
