Hi,
Is there a way to print from the shell the directory size alone? I was trying du -k but that just gives all the subdirectories etc to, and I just want to know the directory size. Thanks in advance
Stephen

Is the command du -sk /path_to/dir the one you are looking for? or maybe ls -ld /path_to/dir?

I hope that helps.

Also
du -hs /dir will give you the output you are looking for.
breaks down into kbytes, meg or gig.

thanks
