directory indexes problem

Hi all,

I would like to do this:

http:localhost/some/directory/ <--type in broswer, no permission to view the indexes, show an error page!

http:localhost/some/directory/public/ <-- can view all the sub-directories and indexes

Is it possible in Apache?

Yes, deny all directory listing by default, then explicitly allow the option in the /public/ subdirectory.
