Has anyone been able to connect a DirctPC to the network without the extra charge multiuser option. I gather the PC connection is USB and I would like to connect to a seperate piece of hardware instead of through a PC to the network.

Did you ever get an answer to your question? I just went through the same process. I was trying to find some way to hook a firebox (firewall hardware) between the satellite idu and the network switch. I called the vendor of the firewall and the satellite provider and everybody said no. Of course the satellite vendor assured me that the connection was safe with out the firebox. So I returned the firebox.
So if there is a way, I never found it.
