I have a problem I have a win98 computer with no installation cd room and the computer does not have direct cable connection installed, where can i download this program?

2nd problem I had an acer external CDRW 4X4X6 THE DRIVEr died but the case is OK. CAN I ADD AN INTERNAL CDRW TO AN EXTERNAL CDRW ACER CASE?

ulysses,

I didn't need the cd when I installed DCC. Have you already tried adding it to windows to see if it would prompt you for the cd? If not, go to Start->Settings->Control Panel->Add/Remove Programs. Click the Windows Setup tab. Windows will display a list of components. Highlight Communications and click "details". Put a check next to Direct Cable Connection and OK out every window. It should start the install and hopefully not prompt you for the windows cd.

As far as your 2nd problem goes, not likely or at least it sounds like a longshot to me. Internal devices like cdroms and hard drives are meant to interface with ATAPI IDE controllers, not USB, Parallel, or Firewire connections which most external devices use. They're not compatible...

i dit what cdogg asked but when i click apply it asks for the cd rom. is there a website that has this DCC software pleeeeaasee!
