Hello,

We have several Windows 2003 servers that are having a problem where if we do:

dir \\register1\c\directory

sometimes we get File Not Found immediately, sometimes it will display a random amount of the directory contents and then stop in the middle with a File Not Found, and sometimes it will come back with a complete correct listing of the directory.

We have tried installing Windows 2003 clean from the CD instead of from our image.

We have installed the newest NIC drivers from the manufacturer and this hasn't helped. All of the computers and the server are running with gigabit NICs and we have a Dell PowerConnect gigabit switch.

We can do this from a Windows XP computer and get results as if it was local.

Has anyone seen a problem like this before? We are having a lot of problems with our host computers connecting to the server throughout the day. We have written functions into our software to retry it multiple times without being seen by the end user, but they have been noticeably slowing down lately so it is becoming a real problem.

If anybody has seen anything like this, please let me know if you had found any possible solutions.

Thanks,
Ben Jitima
