Not off the top of my head but it will be in the knowledge base somewhere.
Cut the end off the patch lead, bare off the ends on put your toungue on it then measure how much it tingles.

im pretty sure it's the same as an analogue 48v but i'd have to get my volt meter out of the toolbox which is in my jeep which is outside my house and it's raining.
I only know becuase often alarm guys tend to think it is an analogue line and tap off it but ring you asking why it's not working.

Its funny because in the old days i used to have a trainee and when we were testing things i used to get him to bare off the sheaf of a couple of wires with his teeth because the wire strippers were "in the van". The wires were from an alog port.
He used to do both at the same time.
Ring the ext whilst baring wires = flying trainee and my sides hurting with laughter.

that's the oldest 1 in the book! you ask the new guy to hold the wires, then turn your back and ring the line from your mobile, he he. after that you they believe every wire will zap em!

OK all you comedians, thanks for the bit of comedy, we all can certainly use a laugh when dealing with IP Office!! The reason I need this info is because we're trying to pin down the cause of multiple modules (dig&analog) blowing in an IP500. Mod 1(DS30): Blown, Mod 3(DS30): Blown..twice, Mod 4 (Analog30): Blown. System is properly grounded, all mods run through a Powerware 9120 UPS that is functioning properly. We are currently preparing to put surge suppression on all station cabling. Tech support says the think it may be the software!!

software wont' effect voltage. digital phones dont use ring voltage, just signalling. if the whole module is blown, as in every port on the mods you listed have you tried replacing the ipoffice 500?
I have seen in the past a short on a pair blowing out the port of an extension mod but you're problem sounds more serious than this.
Do you know if the fuse is blown in the module or plug, or are any lights on when it is gone?

Digital station voltage is 48 Volts, On 64xx phones, or 44xx phones, ringing, idle, onhook, offhook, always 48V! 48V was the Magic number on digital sets on definity, Merlin ( ATL/MLX/ISDN ).
PG is right, It isnt the software!
Usuall culprit for bunred out mods is lack of IROBs on out of building sets, ariel cables, or poor ground!
I would dould check the UPS, it could be working, but alowing spikes to go through the AC line!
