Hi guys,
first time writing on this forum
my question is: I have a customer with a definity version 6
They want to replace the trunks (pots lines) with a PRI , will the version 6 support a DS1 card ?
thanx in advance

Yes, it will support TN464, and TN767. I would recommend the TN464.

Please make sure that the ISDN-PRI software bit is set to 'y' (display system customer-options). For ISDN-PRI service you will also need a port on a TN765 Processor Interface board.

pri on v6 requires more hardware than the ds1 board + the customer options for RTU must be activated.

Code:
display system-parameters customer-options Page 2 of 5 SPE B
                                OPTIONAL FEATURES

                                ISDN-PRI? y

Then you also need tn765 processor interface circuit pack and programming of communication link and processor channel for each d-channel PRI circuit.

i'm going to be the first to ask. is this a G3r, Si, or VS (not that it matters)? Praying that it's not a VS.

i AM NOT SURE , BUT i THINK IT IS A g3R , I WILL FIND OUT THIS WEEK , ALSO DO i NEED A csu THAT PLUGS INTO AMPHNOL ON BACK OF MACHINE?

Good point.

If it's g3r then PRI uses packet bus and will not need processor interface or communication links and processor channels.

120a CSU is integrated csu. But, you can use many types of CSU for different purposes. You will need one if connecting to a ISDN service provider.
