Anyone ever have a user report that when they make an outside call that the line beeps and sounds like a fax machine. I looked into it and the user is on a digital port, the phone is a 6408d+ hooked into a prologix switch.
The only thing I can think of is a voice logger... I've worked in a couple of public safety locations that had recurring beeps on every phone except one, because all the phones were recorded (the other one was for 'personal' calls...)
It could be anything! I would try checking the CDR records to see if it's the same trunk all the time. Then again it could be their wiring so you may want to do a wire map test. It could be the phone itself.
However, if they are using a Headset you may need to check the batteries. some headsets like GNnetcom beep like that when the batteries are low.
