Digital Line Card Problem

I had a bad lightning storm last night and have serval 2008 and 3904's out this morning. Looking at the switch there are 3 Digital Line cards that have red leds. When I replace them the same red led appears? Any suggestions?

Done it no change, Ld. 32 enlc 4 0 2, when I stat the cards phones sho idle. But LED still lit

Stat the Card, do a DISC 4 0 2, then do ENLC 4 0 2

When I STAT 4 0 2 they sho Idle, when I disc 4 0 2 the all sho disable, when I enlc 4 0 2 they all sho idle agian but red LED never goes away

Yes I have 7 extensions that are out and their TN's are all 4 0 2 x

I would say replace the line card.

Disc 4 0 2
replace card
enlc 4 0 2

Changed out with a second new card, same result

try punching a phone down right to the tn and see if it works. It actually may be the phones that are bad.

Can you move a working set to one of the ports that are "bad" and get the phone to work? It is possible you have an issue with the bus and there are some shorts on some of the phones, either on the backplane itself or in the connectors somewhere. If you cannot move the working sets to a bad port, try removing the tail cable and see if the lights go away.

No, a known good phone will not setup on the TN 66 block.

It did sho disable after DISU but when I did a ENLU 4 0 2 x no change...

No change in phone, a known good phone would not setup on port 4 0 2 x

Try to do a out on the tn and reconfigure the tn.

No, outed the TN and rebuilt it still no dial tone

Sounds like a problem with the back plane or the port cables.

Ini the switch or powerdown, I have had same problem recently.
