I have changed the trunk access code on one of my trunks. the users only use this trunk to dial internal extensions. they currently dial the TAC followed by the 4 digit extension. what i am looking to do is use ARS digit conversion to match any length beginning with the single digit TAC and followed by the extension:

Matching Pattern Min Max Del Replacement String
1 5 5 1 2

Net Conv ANI Req
ars y n

i have set up the old TAC digit in the dialplan as a 5 digit extension.

I am assumming that u have two definity pbxes that tied together by a tie line. And from one location, the user dials the TAC to get on the trunk, and the extension in the far pbx. This in not the normal way of doing this. The normal way is to set up AAR and have the people dial just the extension, and the pbx looks up the extension and if doesn't see it in the users home pbx, it looks in AAR and routes the call over the appropriate trunk automaticly. One of the reasons for using AAR instead of TAC is because of Toll fraud dangers of using TAC. The set up of AAR is fairly complicated, but it is the preferred way to go.

we do not use aar. we actually have a cisco router on each end converting the calls to voip on one end, sending the call, converting it back on the other and sending it to the far end pbx. the tie line assumption is correct, but the connection is not standard voice. the IOS in the routers cannot do what we need unless we reconfigure. i want to have the users dial a number and have the close end pbx convert the digits so the router sends the digits i need without re-reducating the users.

thx
