Hi,

Juz want to know what is different betwwen extension and ports. We planned to upgrade to BC 12, our supplier ask us for how many ports? How to know the number of our current ports used?

the number of ports is the total maximum number of trunks/extensions you can have on your PBX.

let's say you got 3 ELU29 (board for 16 analog extensions) and 2 ELU28 (board for 16 digital extensions). then the total number of ports would be : 5*16 = 80. in addition, if you have for example an ISDN PRI to your provider you must count 30 ports.

normally the supplier can calculate the total number of ports for you via the CNLIP:DEV=YES; command
