Differentiating between Queries in a Database

I have a database in which there are queries that are required to produce the standard forms and reports; and queries that have been generated subsequently, to extract data for a particular purpose. The latter are one-offs and could be deleted without detriment to the operation of the database.

I would like to find a way of either storing the latter in a different place from the former, or annotating them so that it is obvious which one is which.

Does anyone have any thoughts on how I can do this?

Best Regards
John

You could add comments to the queries by right clicking them and going to properties... and then description?

You can create groups within the database window. Then place shortcuts to your various queries in specific groups. This is available only in Access 2k or later (I think).

I would simply implement Ms. A. secruity and not permit the creation of new queries. For ad-hoc work, let users LINK hte tables to a "prvate" db and create whatever they want therein.

I have created groups as suggested by Duane and this is a big help. I have also added comments to the queries as suggested by DanChard but cannot find a way of displaying them in the database window. Is this possible? and if so, how do I do it.

You need to be viewing full details to see the comments. This can be enabled by selecting 'Details' from the 'View' menu.

Thanks Dan, That is just what I needed.

Best Regards
John
