Guys,

How can i tell what version of the above i have, i have just gone over the 16gb limit, now reached 16.5gb not sure how i tell if i have standard edition or enterprise.

Thanks

If you have the Exchange 5.5 Enterprise Edition, the following event will be logged in the server's event viewer application log when the information store starts:

Event id 1217
Source: MSExchangeIS Private
Type: Information
Information store with unlimited storage capacity enabled.

You should have the Enterprise Edition because if you had the standard edition, your information store would have shut down when it reached 16gb.

Hi Beckas,

I also need to find the differance between the two, on checking the application log I do not have any Event ID 1217, does this mean that I am running Standard edition?

Thanks.

P.S. This is a new install that someone else did and they can not remember which CD they used!

It means you haven't restarted the IS in a while. The event is logged on IS startup.
