different result with Paste and Place

the same picture use "Place" getting a more blur result in PM than "Paste", why?
And the pictures of my exported PDF files are Black and White. I am a new user of Pagemaker.

Always use File -> Place, avoid copy'n'paste. Why? Because the windows clipboard has limits which do not exit when using the import filters.

More blur? Hit Ctrl+Shift+F12 to redraw the screen in hi-rez mode.

That could be because

1. you pasted the image into PM and lost some info;
2. you're using the wrong PPD, a mono/B&W one;
3. the format of the image is not *.TIF or *.EPS;
4. metafiles (eg *.WMF) are not converted correctly by the Postscript driver.

Thank you for help, my last question has been solved.
Now I'm trying to put a line drawing (AutoCAD )in a PM page where there is a picture (300dpi), no matter how I try, the line drawing is always blurred. how to solv this problem?
There is maybe some discussion about it, but I don't have too much time to search, thank you guys again.

The best way to do this is to open the ACAD DXF file in CorelDraw or Illustrator, and then convert to an EPS (Tiff if you are printing to a non-ps printer) graphic. File>Place that.. again, the screen resolution will look choppy usually in PM because you are seeing a placeholder of the image.. the file will print fine.

When in doubt, deny all terms and defnitions.

I export eps file directly from AutoCAD, it's not too bad.
