different binary file sizes

Why would the same binary files (on different servers) in the $ORACLE_HOME/lib directory have different sizes? Both servers have Solaris 8 and Oracle 8.1.7.3 installed. Their SQL versions, etc are also the same.

Could it be that in one server you installed a 32 bit version of Oracle, while in the other you installed a 64 bit version?
