Diff Serv settings

Who knows exactly what and why we change the diff serv settings under the Gatekeeper. I had some VoIP issues with a SCN over a LAN and Avaya had me change the signalling to 34. just wondering has a document that explains in detail when to use differnet settings for the QoS.

There is no set in stone setting...as every nework is different...there are best practices to follow however when setting up IP Phones, what I tend to see is a lot of people never address layer 2 and only focus on layer 3. A big mistake in my feeble mind. There is a Lan Adminstrators Guide on avaya,s web site I would recomend reading
