CALLS TO EXT 2117 - END USER ONLY WANTS DID CALLS AND INTERNAL EXT DIALS TO RING HER EXT 2117 ANY OTHER CALLS COMING TO 2117 NEED TO GO TO AUDIX AUTO ATTENDANT OR COVERING EXTENSION ....NOT RING 2117....
 
Is 2117 in the DID range?

You can do a "list usage extension 2117" to see if she belongs to any other calling groups. Or maybe she has a personal co line or something else programmed on her phone. display station 2117 to confirm, and then remove.

(INBOUND ONLY) DID'S TO EXT 2117 COME IN VIA XXX-XXX-1117 THRU DID TRUNK ID#8 AND WE PICK OFF THE 117 AND THEN ADD A PREFIX OF 2 TO GET IT TO EXT 2117. ONLY INBOUND CALLS FROM DID LINE AND/OR INTERNAL EXT DIALED CALLS ARE WANTED AT THIS EXT 2117. IF ANY OTHER INBOUND CALLS VIA ANY OTHER TRUNKS OTHER THAN THE DID TRUNK #8 COME TO EXT 2117, THEN THEY NEED TO BE DIRECTED TO EITHER DIRECTLY TO AUDIX OR ANOTHER EXTENSION TO BE ANSWERED....
 
Help Me here. What other type of calls are there? Is the station covering for someone. Is the 2117 a route to in a vector. Knowing what kind of calls the station is receiving we can stop the ones that are un-wanted.

This ext 2117 (6408d+) on the switch is setup like all others on our system. The calls inbound can be either from the DID# XXX-XXX-1117 (trunk group#8) to ext 2117, internal extension dialing or can be on a line from any one of our other trunk groups that has outside lines (non-DID,on t1). The calls coming in on the "other trunks" (non-DID)are all sent to auto attendants depending on time of day schedule and then routed accordingly based on choices by caller....enter extension if known or by use of a "names directory". These calls from the "other trunks" to this ext. 2117 need to be answered by the execs assistant or sent directly to audix for ext 2117. Soo how do I route DID calls in / extension dialing differently than the other calls coming in......?
 
Try COR on page 3 of the COR form. Place the trunks that cannot call the station in one COR and place the station in another. Then on page 3 of the COR form place an N stating that the trunk COR cannot "talk" to the Station COR. Make sure that the trunks that can "talk" to the station are in a seperate COR with a Y on Page 3. Below is a sample of Page 3.

hmmmmm..... Do u have vectors?
If u don't have vectors, I can think of a way to do it by having x2117 not having a mailbox or x2117 being the only extension that begins with a '2'. I can give a explanation of any of the three options.

The problem I see here is in the auto attends. When someone dials her extension they are going to get her if you don't restrict her COR like Ed was saying. Although if you give her a different COR and someone is trying to enter her 2117 in the auto attend where will they go if she is restricted? I think I would (and she may not like this temporary inconvenience) give her 2 numbers. Give 2117 a coverpath 1 ring to her assistant or change its cover path to go to voice mail. This way when someone enters her extension 2117 from the other trunks they will go to the new path and the asst. can screen the calls etc. Then assign her a new DID to her phone that she can give out to whomever she wants to know this number including all of the internal callers. Sort of like the old private line idea...
