Greetings.
I am about to get 6 PRIs from a local provider for DID. (I currently have 10 isdn PRIs in trunk group 1 for local calls only).
I have a couple of questions:
1> Can a TN464F ds1 card be set up to support DIDs in my new trunk group?
2> My plan is to remove some members from trunk group 1 and then assign the ports to the new trunk group members. Then test. This will work right? (It sounds too simple.)
3> We are in MD and require 10 digit dialing... where do I set up the switch to 'absorb' the first 5 digits that come in, so the calls route to my 5 digit extensions?
Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Regards, Grace

Hi MsGrace,

1> Yes, a TN464F can be used for DID (I am currently using them)

2> Yes, moving some members of one trunk group to another should work fine for testing (provided your trunk group is compatible w/ the service)

3> You should find out from your Carrier how many digits they are sending to you. (ie. In my case they are sending only the last 5 digits which works out perfectly) If you still need to absorb you can do this on page-1 of your trunk group form. The two fields you are interested in are:

Digit Treatment = absorbtion
Digits = 5

Good luck!

Thanks janney!!!
For item 2, you indicated if the 'trunk group is compatible with the service'
When I set up the new trunk group... I will make it type: DID... is that what you mean by compatible (as opposed to isdn or tie for the type of trunk group)?
I think I answered my own question.
Thanks.

MsGrace, I think you answered your own question too. My concern was that I'm not quite sure what you will have physically connected to your TN464F card.
