We have a very old G3siV6 with analog CO's and DID trunks. We've administered a DID number on the back-up operator's console. When she is there, she answers. When she is not, the calls to the DID ring with no coverage. The Night Service won't work since the main attendant is still taking calls.

How to allow coverage for the calls to this DID?
Call Pickup group won't work with a Console.
TAAS might work, but that means putting Console Permissions on the stations most likely willing to grab the ringing call.
There is no administerable field on this extension on the console as it is not a station, it remains an extension.

any wisdom from the wise ones who have been through Definity days?

remove the attendant extensions from the consoles

example
console 1 = station 101
console 2 = station 102

change console 1 = 201
change console 2 = 202

add hunt-group 11 with extension 101
add hunt-group 12 with extension 201

you can have coverage for hunt-group 11 and hunt-group 12
put station 201 in hunt-group 11
put station 202 in hunt-group 12
program night service destination on each hunt-group

when 201 and 202 do not answer, the calls follow cover for the hunt-group

add hunt-ns 11 to attendant 1
add hunt-ns 12 to attendant 2

users call 101 to get to 201 covers on no answer
users call 102 to get to 202 covers on no answer

activate hunt-ns on attendant 1 to send calls to a night destination for hunt-group 11

activate hunt-ns on attendant 2 to send calls to a night
destination for hunt-group 12

A great teacher, does not provide answers, but methods to teach others "How and where to find the answers"
