Need Help. We are installing a T-1 between our fax server and G3. We would like to have a block of DID numbers that come in on our local PRI go across the T-1 into our fax server so everyone can have their own fax number. How can we get the DID number that comes in on the PRI retransmitted on a T-1 channel?
Thanks so much!!

You can setup the fax did's to cover just like they would to a voice mail, but use remote coverage to go across the T1. I don't what your fax server wants to see in order to identify which fax did the call came from, so that will be a separate challenge.

Through UDP and AAR. Change UDP on your new extensions range of the fax DID'd. Set up AAR with a new route pattern to the T-1 connecting the fax server. Remember to delete the proper amount of digits (the digits of your UDP code) in the route pattern. Should work fine.

Thanks for your reply. Will this use up 100 software ports? I only have a select few and would like to use them sparingly.

Thanks again,
Todd

We'll give that a try. So the DID digits will be repeated across the T-1 to the fax server? Appreciate your reply.

Todd

Yes, Lets say for instance your DID's for the fax server are 1000 to 1999. Your UDP would look like this:

Ext Code: 1xxx Type: UDPCode 221

Your AAR:

Dialed Total Route Call Node ANI
String Min Max Pattern Type Num
221 7 7 3 aar 1 n

Route Pattern 3 would use the Trunk Group of the T1 to Fax Server, Deleting 3 digits (the 221). So the DID's, 1000 to 1999, will appear to the fax server as such. Hope this helps.

As far as I know,
