dialup connects but no browsers work

This is a machine with 98 on it. The fellow installed a game that can be played over the network and ever since he did that the machine will dialup and connect but none of the web access programs work any longer. This happened immediately after he installed the new game.

won't work...browser will not even start....just sits there.

goto control panel/add remove programs/microsoft internet exploring and try running a repair..or a revert to previous version..then upgrade back up to ie6
