Hi all, is there a way to dial into a number on the switch remotely and then call a long distance number off the switch?

Thank you all for any help.

I know there is a feature called DISA -> Direct Inward System Access; built in LD 24, that would allow you to do just that. I have never configured it before, and have heard lots of horror storeies about security and toll fraud.

I am sure some others have this in place today that can assist.

Good Luck,

Scott M.

are you trying to do that or trying to prevent it?.. on the last audit i found 9 phones that were cfw 9, call that did and you get outside dial tone, with my setup if you have a auth code, you could talk all night. without auth codes anyone could talk for a week. i removed cfxa from class and pulled cdr for those stations.. disa is a way to program that same thing with an additional password, and if you do use it, it will get hacked

When I worked for Nortel, we used DISA with an 800 number that came in on the DISA number. we ran a nightly CDR report to check for Hackers. In 3 years of doing this the only time we were hacked was by the Son of 1 VP who was giving the AUTHCODE to all his college friends.

usually that is the case a trusted employee shares the number. i've set it up in a mitel several times, without problems, but toll is not the same concern it used to be.

Thank you all for your help. John, do you remember when I kept asking about the interconnectivity to the meridian from the mitel and never getting the answers I needed? It turns out its simple, just attach the mitel's embedded trunk card to a tdmi! AJK

that would almost have to work, any two vendors pri cards can be connected back to back, with qsig you can get names and mwi accross the link

Hi, I tried the callforwarding with a 9 which worked internally only. When calling from externally I received a fast busy. I then tried to do a thru dial on MM the same thing happens (I get dial tone when dialing internal and fast busy from external). Does anyone have any suggestions. Thank you in advance.AJK

without disa, look at the options in rdr, cff or cfa is wronge. one uses the ncos of the set the other uses the ncos of the inbound trunk.

John, I have looked in ld 15 and 24 but cant find cfa or cff. Apparently there is a way to dial into a person's mailbox, press 0 then dial out. Do you know how I would go about doing this? Thank you for any help. AJK

got rushed a little a when i was posting. go to 21 prt rdr, post that the 1st thing in opt is either cff of cfa, yours is wronge, change rdr in ld 15
