I have win98se and after reinstalling windows the dial up networking box does not store my password, the store password box has been greyed out even when you type something in it.
I do not use a password 2 log onto my computer. I use MSDUN 1.4
Normally this happens because a pwl file is corrupted. Goto the Windows directory and delete the pwl file, probably called default.pwl When you reboot you will have to enter the DUN password again, but it should have the remember option available this time.
i think i have a corrupt "c:\windows\system\inetcpt.cpl"
I get an error msg when i try and change anything in the users tab in the control panel.
I think this file is also corrupt on my win98 cd because i got an error msg about that file when i installed windows.
Do you know where i can get that file from?
Here's the suggested resolution from the article:
Extract a new copy of the Winhlp32.exe file from your original Windows 95/98 disks or CD-ROM to the Windows folder
I forgot to mention this. Please post the exact error message or messages you are receiving. They can provide valuable clues. However, try the other suggestion first.
