I used to be able to dial the Tac to dial out on our DID trunk(t-1). We then upgraded to a PRI trunk and I get a fast busy when I try to dial the Tac. It was setup with the same COR. When I try to change DIAL ACCESS from N to Y. I get an error "cannot have dial access on Isdn with this service type". Any Ideas? I am trying to give our users a method for bypassing the ARS when our main trunk goes down.
Thanks

I don't believe you can TAC an ISDN trunk. Give them the TAC for non-isdn Trunks...

We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit. ARISTOTLE 384-322 B.C.

ISDN trunks don't use CAS, channel associated signaling.
The D-channel carry all the information about all the calls.
The only way you can use a specific channel is to busyout the rest of the channels.

Why not simply add the additional trunk to the ARS routes so that the back-up is built into your dial-plan? No extra steps for the users.

Sorry if this if off topic...

Is there an easy way to identify the trunks and how they route in the switch?

I have the trunk id button on my phone, but need to know more details so I can assign them accordingly within eCAS.

Thanks.

fonetech,
When I put the additional trunk in the route pattern, Do I give it a different FRL or keep them the same?

Thanks

If you want all of your personel using this as a back up, then you would keep the FRL the same as the first. If you want to restrict it such as only Management and above, then you would assign it to a different FRL.
