Dial By Name Directory

A staff member wants his dial by name directory look-up to not call his desk, but rather this admin assistant's extension.

We have found putting zName as the user's name makes it pretty much impossible for someone to find them in the directory, but we would prefer to have them able to be looked up but just route to the admin assistant.

Is this setup in manager or vmpro? or can it not be done?

So dial by name is not want that user wants but it still must be used when that user likes ?

This sound impossible to me.

Or it doesnt work or it does work, there is nothing in between.

tlpeter, i am not sure i understand what you are asking... but let me take another pass....

user A wants dial by name lookup for their name to route to User B's extension

You can route the $Key result of the "Dial by name" action through a "Test variable" that checks for his extn number and if it's true changes it to the extn of the assistant if false leaves it as is, then that should work as you want

the other thing you can do is create a new user with his name and fwd to the admin asst. check the ex directory box on his real ext.
