I am looing to set up a dial access code for international calling. I have set up CORs, FRLs and all of that good stuff per extension but I was wondering if you can somehow set up a 3 digit pin for when a specific number is dialed. Does anyone know how to do so? thanks, nunzeo

Sounds like you need to impliment authorization codes. You can do so and have it only "ask" for a code when someone dials internationally. It's relatively easy to set up. It uses the FRL of your station and the FRL of the outbound route to determine if it needs to "ask" you for an authorization code or not. Basically, if your station's FRL is the same or greater than the FRL of the outbound route, then it won't "ask" you for a code. If it's not the same or higher, it will.

assistu,
thanks. how do you set the system up for authorization codes? i know the who FRL, COR, route patterns, ARS and all that good stuff. i just did not see anything in the system for codes. what commandn is it.

thanks again. nunzeo

It's in the "system=features" usually on the 3rd page. Once you turn it on there, it's in effect for the whole system. From there you use "cha auth" to add, change, or remove authorization codes. If you don't see it, check your "system customer-options." It is a RTU, but I believe it's been an "included item for some time now.

ok. thanks a lot. i'll check it out.
