Diagonstic tool for mobo

Just wondering if there was anything out there that would run a test on the motherboard to see if all ports were working. Having a problem adding some memory and just want to know for sure what the problem is. I belive it's just that the slot is not working.

I don't know of any tools that will test every slot and such. But why not move your existing memory to the slot in question as a test.

It could be as simple as incompatability, or really anything. need more details.
