Compaq Deskpro 2000. Pentium I 200MMX. 160mb RAM. 2.1gb HDD. ESS 1868 Audio. Onboard Virge S3 graphics. Phillips 105S 15" monitor. Windows 98
I recently downloaded the Compaq diagnostics/setup file for the above.
I transferred it to floppies so I can boot with it in. Seems to work but I want to load the setup. When I run the setup install option I get message no partition. There is then option to create a partition. If I run that option just get "not enough disc space to create partition 2mb required". I have about 1.5Gb free on HDD.
How can I create partition and get setup on it. I know there is an fdisk on boot disc to do this sort of thing but I am not very experienced and a bit wary of playing with this.
Any ideas???
Also are changes made in this setup the same as direct changes to the BIOS?? I have tried every method I can find to bring up the BIOS ( f10,del on boot etc. etc. ) all with no success.
