DHCP via wireless connection

I installed a Level One WLAN card in a old win98 pc.
When running the WLAN tool it shows that there's a connection with the Siemens Santis 50 router. The routers web tool also shows the pc as a wireless client.
But it doesnt hand out an automatic IP address.
My laptop connects via Bluetooth with that same router and obtains an IP without any probs.
Also strange is that when i set ip settings manually, i'm not able to ping/connect to the laptop or the internet.
Any idea what might cause this problem?

Check and make sure the old machine doesn't have a hosts file. It would overide dhcp if there was a hard coded ip address. Also check wins, just for jollies.

Only Wep-key is active.
Besides connection isn't the problem.
Obtaining an IP address is what this is about.

With some boxes you can establish a connection to the access point but not have any traffic allowed to pass because of the filters in place.

The same can be said of an improperly entered WEP key.

Double check the entries and as a last resort disable WEP and see if you can get a connection and then redo the WEP.
