Hello
I have 10.10.1.0/24 network
All clients WinXpPro sp2. Server (SR) - Win2003 standart sp1.
All computers in network have statically assigned IP.
Yesterday i`ve installed DHCP server on SR. Scope 10.10.1.200-250.
I dont use addresses from that scope.
Tried to get address from one of the clients.
Everything works fine. IP assigned. But when i watch statistic window of DHCP i see some strange data.
It shows that 5 addresses in scope are already used. when i press refresh this number changes (3-8).
After 2 hours passed sinve i started DHCP DHCPrequest, DHCPoffecrs and DHCPDiscovers reached ~5000 values.
But under leases there is only one ip that was assigned to my test client.
What is the problem?

Have you checked your error logs and event files? If you have problems there, post them here. Just need a little more information. Good luck.

Mhm, problem was with ringed switches...
Why ring produses such noise.
Sometimes it just works fine and sometimes that kind of nonsenses starts

Explain, are the switches sending out bad packets, blocking dhcp? How do you know it was the switches?
