Hello to all....

Not sure if this is the right spot, but it does come into play with DHCP.

We've got 3 domains in the company I work for, A, B and C

Domain A is the main domain, domain B is a child of domain A and C is out on their own with a trust relationship to B.

In the DHCP settings on domain B, there is a setting 252 WPAD which points to
Domain B has an IAS server with surf control software to monitor/control web sites.

If I look on danprx.b.com, I can't find the file called wpad.dat

If I have a PC that is from domain A or domain C connect to the DHCP on the domain B site, they can't surf the internet.

I'm suspecting that this has to do with the different DNS suffixes for the domains. If I do an ipconfig /all on the PC from domain A, I get a name of test1.b.com instead of test.a.com like I should get.

We're going to be switching b.com to a.com domain and eventually merge C into A as well.

HERE'S THE QUESTION!

What can I do in the interim to make the proxy/IAS server work for the other domains at the B.com locations?

Are there settings in DHCP that I am missing?

Why can't I find the wpad.dat file and is there anything that might be missing in there that would correct this problem?

I'm going to cross post this in a couple of the other forums, but appreciate ANY help I can get.

Thanks

Detroit....

P.S. No one else here knows that setup due to the Sys admin of the b.com domain leaving the company!

Proxy/ISA setting should be configured within the connections tab 'LAN' of Internet Explorer. To make sure that all computers in your domains are configured with the proxy server address, create a group policy with the connection setting configured.
