DHCP not working correctly

I have just setup a DHCP scope on a Windows 2000 advanced server. All seems fine except one machine keeps getting its DHCP setting from another source.
This is a clients site, they have a router that is setup for DHCP. This will soon be replaced & all the IP addresses had been set up manually, as they didn't realise about DHCP.
I was asked to look at this & suggested that we use DHCP from the server.
I don't have access to the router at present, so am unable to turn off the DHCP scope on it.
However, all other machines have got thier IP addresses from the server. There is a mixture of OS's (all MS)
The machine in question is a Windows ME client. This machine managed to get it's IP address from the router & not the server, when set up for DHCP.
I set the machine up with a static IP & have waited for the allocated IP to be droped from the router. This was set too one day. Anyway, on setting the machine to once again get it's IP from DHCP, it is going back to the router. I had a couple other machines that had been left on DHCP, but I have got those to get thier IP from the server.
It is just this one machine. Can I for it to get its IP from the server or am I best to just leave it with a static address until the router goes?

Thanks for the info. I have a couple of ideas now, I will try them out the next time I get to the site & post back.

I removed some settings that I had left enabled & rebooted the machine. It has now got it's IP correctly from the server & not the router. I am going to try & find out what the username & password is for the router & stop it using DHCP.
Anyway, at least it is now working.
