I have a W2k SRV DHCP service running and have seen numerous DHCP "names" as IP addresses instead of the naming convention I have set per workstation. The same workstations also have an alpha numerical value under Unique ID instead of the MAC address - where are these guys coming froma and whats happening??

Dunno...maybe there's some probs with ARP protocol. How about netBIOS over TCP/IP?

Using netbios over tcp/ip aswell as AD DNS
