At least once a week our DHCP server stops assigning IPs, and I have to restart the DHCP service to get it to work again. I've tried generating a new database, but it still gets corrupted. The event log shows error 1014 "The JET Database call returned the following error : -510." and 1016 "An error occurred while accessing the DHCP database"
Does anyone know what could be the problem?

Look on the net for Jet40Sp3_Comp.exe, this fixed a jet database problem for me.

I just installed sp6 for Jet 4.0, I was already beyond sp3. I'll wait and see if it works.

Should I do anything with the database (Jetpack.exe or regenerating a dhcp.mdb file) since I ran this update?

Still getting the error, I had to restart the DHCP service this morning.

Did anyone fix this? I have the same error, but I need to fix it too.

Can anyone fill me in on the fix?

Thanks

I ended up creating a vbscript that runs in task manager every morning at 3:00 a.m. to restart the dhcp service, and this has prevented the problem from re-occurring for over a year

Any idea why you are getting the corruption? What did you try prior to that to fix it? Did you try to recreate the database?

I can't really remember all the steps I tried to fix it, but I know I installed some jet service pack and used some utility that was supposed to fix jet database problems. Once I tried the workaround with restarting the dhcp service we were so happy that it worked we never bothered to try to SOLVE the problem.
