I have 2 parent DC's. 2000 Advanced Server. How do I make the 2 DHCP servers aware of each other so that a client has 2 choices to reach a DHCP server, both with the same pool but not handing out redundant addresses? I have set up dhcp servers before but know nothing about clustering.

80/20 rule sounds ok but why not config a cluster for dhcp if you have the servers to do it?

Can only cluster if the DHCP server is cluster aware.
