Devp with geo-distributed teams

Has anybody here worked/managed in a development model with 2 (or more) teams in wide geographically disjoint places.. like (US) + (China or India)?


In particular,
1. what source control model was used?
2. What kind of development was being done?
3. How tightly integreted was the work? (were the individual teams working on tightly coupled modules etc?)

Any inputs and experiences shared will be highly appreciated?

Hi there,

We use a product called Source Off Site for this purpose.

http://www.sourcegear.com/sos/index.asp

It works well. One team of devleopers use a local copy of VSS and another team, in India, use Source Offsite to link into this same database.
