Every time I boot, I get the message that a device or driver failed to start, check the event viewer. However the event viewer just repeats the same message and I cannot find the device or driver that failed to load. Is there someplace else I can look? I think it has something to do with my onboard sound card, I have to reload the drivers after a reboot, but don't know why, I just go through the update wizard, it finds the drivers and reloads them and it works fine until I reboot.

One place you might want to check is the services snap-in. Then look for services that are set to automatic startup but are not started. This will usually point to the error. Thanks

Also try to boot with Boot Logged option.
Then check winnt\nbtlog. Gia Betiu
