Hey all,

my company is currently an ASP shop producing an application with SQLServer2000 as the backend. We are currently considering moving to MacromediaMX tools for development based on thier web site info. Are the Macromedia tools complete enough to produce a database driven application? How about the learning curve for the developers? Any ideas, comments or lessons learned would be greatly appreciated.

There was great support to ASP 2.0 in ultradev. with MX it now excellent support for ASP 3.0 and ASP.NET. What they have in MX excellent for eg (just a few):

1. you can see line data layed out within dreamweaver
2. server conections, bindings recordsets, etc are easy to create
3. there are a few good extensions that at the exchange to automate routine tasks, eg. cookies, etc.
4. they have a refernce built in it for all objects

An ASP programmer will find it easy to use, as it basically designed to create dynamic sites without programming knowledge.
