Hi

I have win2k with macromedia installed on my laptop and want to develope a site-"inside the network" on a linux box..must I have samba configured or how do I develope the site from my laptop and get the files and pages to the linux box..

Tnx

Samba is one option as you can map a drive to the server and develop on the server.

Others tend to work on their PC's and FTP the files across to the Linux server.

With Samba, the following path (on Redhat 9) will have to be shared to you:
/var/
With FTP, you can use a FTP GUI utility like Cupertino to transfer your files to the server (same location as above)
(remember to transfer using the binary format)
