I have a customer that need to connect a PRI to a Norstar ICS system version 30m1f05 NAT.

Does this version allow PRI?

How can I decifer the system version?

If it doesn't allow PRI will it work with a plain T1?

Are there key codes required for any of the above to work?

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

Jeff

assuming the 1 is an l - mics 4.0
first rel of PRI ...(read as 'buggy' - suggest an upgrade)

PRI requires keycode + DTI + services card
T1 will work with DTI + services card

Thanks for the reply.

I believe the 1 should have been a I.

What release level would you recommend for PRI?

I always use 6.1 for PRI's. I haven't had any issues with 6.1

Make sure that it is the last RLS of 6.1 the ealier releases did have issues.

Or go to 7.0 since it has no issues, and your not looking to make sure it's the later 6.1 release.

Thanks to all who have replied. Great information.

I know Norstar equipment can be bought from non-authorized Nortel company, can upgrades be purchased from these types of companies as well?

just make sure they can and will support you/the products they sell - ALL the way

Just make sure that you complete any upgrade before you get any new key codes. The reason I say this is because if you have any problems upgrading the system & have to go back to the lower software there is a good chance that your system ID will change therefore making any key codes that you have no good.
