Determine Fair Market Value of G3R?

I am trying to determine the fair market value for one of our G3R switches. Can someone point me to a good resource, etc.? I have a call into our legal department, but I wanted to poll the Internet audience for advice.

This information would be used in order to sell the equipment to a new customer.

DefinityG3R : I beleve if you call someone in the after market they will be able to tell you the current value of the card, Cabinets and sets. In stead of asking outright how mutch is this stuff worth ask for the current asking price of the component and do the math. You can find the aftermarket guys in the net. Do a google search on AVAYA Parts.

You will need to make a complete inventory of teh system cards and sortware version in order to find out what the after market price would be. You do realize that AVAYA is obsoleting the G3R in 2004 but will still be supporting it for at least 5 years. this may effect the value.

What you could do to determine te value is ask Avaya or your BP what an upgrade would cost to the current release.

Then ask what a complete new system would cost for the current release that would provide the same size and functions.

E.G an upgrade to a S8700 MultiConnect and a new S8700 MultiConnect with same cabinet style you have right now.

The difference in price is the value of your current system.

I've bought from them recently and was happy with the product and service.

You may want to note that your G3R's software is about 1/2 if not more, of it's value, and the Avaya license is strictly non transferable, so parts resellers will only give you 'parts' value.
Otherwise if you are lucky and find someone who is willing to buy it functional from you, you can try, but they will technically be unlicensed, and will never be able to get software upgrades from Avaya or a service contract.

A G3R is a high end product, so not sure how many people will be willing to go unlicensed with that size of switch.

Another alternative is if the company who owns this G3R is sold, then the licenses are transferred to the new owner.
