I am new to crystal reports. I am using version 8.5. I have data coming in strait from an SQL database. I want my report to have the details section report like this:

detail a
detail a
detail a

detail b
detail b

I have 2 sets of data that i want to keep grouped together. Crystal reports seems to default to this:
detail a
detail b
detail a
detail b

Is there a setting i am missing somewhere that will format my data the way i want?
Thanks
JT

sounds to me like you are going about this the wrong way. Have you tried using grouping rather than multiple detail sections? If you have more than one details section they will be displayed in order one after the other.

If you have a second set of data, create a subreport pointing to that dataset and place it in the report footer.

Rather than posting text descriptions of how you think Crystal works (especially when you haven't quite grasped the program), try posting technical information:

Crystal version: You did this
Database used: Which SQL database, SQL Server?
Connectivity used (ODBC, OLE DB, etc.):
Example data:
Expected Output:

Crystal doesn't support 2 disparate sets of data within a single report.
