Desktop overwrites handheld?

What is the safest setting for Contacts, Mail, Tasks and the other Outlook functions? I have a very "new" user, and I am afraid she will delete things from her Exchange mailbox.

Use the Sync option, afterall, thats what PDA's are for.
Dataloss should be covered by your backup policy.
