Hi all,
I want to create a '2 server farm' with Win 2000 and Feature Release 3 and instead of a separate Web server I want to use one of my citrix servers as my 'nfuse' server....... is there any problem with this setup? any comments appreiated.
"You can install the Web Interface as part of the MetaFrame XP installation or separately from MetaFrame XP. Before installing the Web Interface on Windows platforms, you must install Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS). Installing the Web Interface During MetaFrame XP Installation MetaFrame XP Setup provides the option to install the Web Interface during MetaFrame installation. If you choose this option, the Web Interface is installed on the MetaFrame server and the Web Interface Web pages are placed in the Web server’s document root directory on the MetaFrame server. This Web site is fully functional and can be used immediately, without additional configuration. If, during installation, you change the default Web page, the default Web page for your MetaFrame server will be the Web Interface’s Login page. If you install the Web Interface as part of MetaFrame XP installation and you select drive remapping, you may need to update the NFuse.properties file to reflect the new drive mappings. Edit the Fuse.properties file (located in the software directory) with the new drive mappings; for example, change c:\ to m:\. Drive remapping occurs during installation of MetaFrame XP; therefore, make these changes after installing MetaFrame XP, but before any feature releases are installed."
FYI - You don't necessarily need to setup SSL if you are behind a company firewall and your remote users are gaining access via VPN. My farm is two servers and a separate Web Interface IIS server which also runs SUS and Symantec Anti-virus updates. If you place the WI onto one of your Citrix servers, you lose the ability to take that server down for maintenance. If you do, your entire farm is unavailable to the users. You might consider using another server to keep your sanity.
