Hi

I have been recently given the task of administering an Avaya IP Office 400 system, and have been asked to restrict calls between particular extensions.

In the manager program I have found the relevant user, and can see that I need to add a short code to this user.

For a user to be blocked dialling an internal extension, I have added code *30N#, with telephone number 6046 (an internal extension number), and feature 'Busy'

I am still able to dial the number from this extension. Short code *30 should give a busy signal according to the short codes in the manager program. What am I doing wrong?

Any help for this newbie is greatly appreciated.

An internal user directory number will take precedence over everything, any short codes or anything at all.

What you need to do is turn dnd on users and then set dnd exceptions on the users that state which exts are allowed to call which exts etc.
