I´ve just demoted a windows 2000 domain controller to an ordinary Windows 2000 member server. I´ve runned through the dcpromo wizard and it did complete without any errors.

I rebooted the server, and checked the eventlog on the other domain controllers. No errors found. In active directory users and computers, the domain controller I demoted, does not show up (of course).

What I find strange is the following:
On the domain controller the File Replication Service is still running. Shouldn´t it stop?

And I still have the eventlogs for directory service and file replication service on the demoted server. But this is maybee in case of documentation of history right?

Can I assume everything went well? Can I just stop the file replication service and say "Hurray hurray" ?
