i have got my hands on a dell deminsion 8100 and im wondering what i can do to make it better.... along the lines of processor and ram an stuff... thanks

Typically, with a Dell, you'll be limited to upgrading the RAM. Be sure to check the spec's for max RAM configuration before spending money on something you can't use. Very few of the MB's I've seen will let you upgrade the CPU.

I'd agree with conceptumator, you'd be able to upgrade RAM, hard drive and maybe a new video card. That would be about it. You can check crucial.com and it will tell you what RAM you can use and the max the PC can take. You can also do something similar at support.dell.com using the Dell Service Tag on the back of the PC, but Crucial will give you WAY better prices. Usually.

Is this a laptop or desktop? The 8100 laptop will only take 512Mb memory. At most, you can give it a bigger disk. I wouldn't try changing the processor on a laptop - they're not made to be upgraded.

its a desktop... i just found out it takes rambus so... im done with this one! looks like ill just go buy a cheap computer and beef it up! thanks guys
