Demand dial connection drops frequently on Windows 2000 server

Hi.

Can someone help me. I use demand dial connection to connect to my central office. It uses PPTP protocol. Configured it to be a persistant conection. My problem is the connection does not last for more than 30 minutes at most. The connection just drops and reconnects. It takes ages to reconnect. how do i rectify this problem
